The National Center for Accessible Media (NCAM) is a research and development division of the WGBH Educational Foundation in Boston. Over 50 companies have supported NCAM through our Strategic Partners program - providing critical resources for the successful development of many media access solutions. Thanks to these companies, NCAM continues to bring the enjoyment, education and information of media offers to millions of Americans, including people with disabilities, minority language users, and those with low literacy skills. Consulting Services

• Testing and analyzing of equipment and software, including prioritized plans for incorporating access solutions into a specific product or service.
• Solutions for creating accessible Web sites, DVDs, CD-ROMs, DTV broadcasts, and motion picture productions.
• Application of standards for closed captioning and descriptive video in mass media: guidance for fulfilling the new standards and regulations of digital television broadcasting.
• Updates on current media access standards and how to apply this information to address the needs of employees and customers with disabilities.
• Web site and intranet accessibility reviews and training: including training in the use of MAGpie — free software from NCAM to create captions and descriptions for online multimedia.
• Interpretation of government regulations such as 255, 508 and recent FCC mandates and legal challenges facing industry today, and preparation for the policies of the future.
• General training sessions on media, technology and accessibility issues for staff awareness.
• Discounts on captioning and description services for corporate in-house media productions.
