About MoPix®

The Motion Picture Access project began in 1992 as a research and development project -- investigating ways in which to make movies access to people who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind and visually impaired. Since that time, the Media Access Group at WGBH has worked hard to bring the best of this technology to the theatres and to the consumers. And we're enjoying some wonderful success. Each year, the number of MoPix® installations, across North America, increases. And the number of Hollywood films, available with captions and video description on the day and date of their release, continues to grow. We are very pleased to be making this important part of American culture available to everyone.
