The
CPB/WGBH National Center for Accessible Media (NCAM) is the research and development arm of the Media Access Group at WGBH. NCAM works with standards bodies, industry, and consumers to develop and implement technical standards and techniques to make multimedia, advanced television, distance learning, digital cinema, and convergent media more accessible. NCAM's projects are designed to ease implementation, foster growth, and lay common groundwork for equal access to new technologies. NCAM's collaborations with the public and private sector inform and expand the work of the captioning and description services and products division.
