The three tapes in this collection look at the connections between high school science and its applications at work and in the community.

Learning That Works shows teachers, students, and workplace mentors engaged in rigorous science inside and outside the classroom. A detailed guidebook provides background information on the featured programs and suggests ways to use the videos for informational sessions and professional development.

A video overview of applied science learning at Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis, Oregon, John Hay High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and the Marine Academy of Science and Technology in Sandy Hook, New Jersey.

Community Projects (45-minute video).
A video case study of the two-year Field Biology Program at Crescent Valley High School.

Partners in Education (45-minute video).
A video case study of the Medical Thematic Program at John Hay High School and the Cleveland Clinic.

Learning That Works Guidebook.
This guidebook includes in-depth case studies, professional development activities, handouts, and resource lists.
