"The Motherland" was aired as a segment of Episode 404 of the 1988 "New Television" series.
Scope:

See the record for "New Television, Episode 404 (1988)" for additional descriptions of videos containing this work."The Motherland" is approximately seven minutes long and juxtaposes archival footage of Augusto Pinochet with camp-like dramatizations by two actors, referred to in the credits as "Prophet" and "Motherland." In an almost empty house, a woman has visions of a Christlike figure. She gives birth to a duck. At the conclusion of the work, she removes carefully arranged fruit and vegetables from the body of the Prophet to expose his wounds. "The Motherland" presents religious and political images, calling attention to the violence inherent in both.
