Anderson's wry commentary is delivered at the stadium that houses the Milwaukee Brewers, with the players and fans becoming part of the performance process." -- WGBH press release
"Featured in the pickup game are people who just get together to play -- Yeats, Yoko [Ono], Elvis, Elizabeth Dole, Lillian Hellman, T. S. Eliot, and other luminaries." -- WGBH press release
As Mark Anderson, who wrote the monologue he delivered, weaves in and out of batting practices and fan-filled bleachers, describing (with obsessive name-dropping) the fictional baseball game, he seems nearly oblivious to the actual game that surrounds him. The work is approximately eight minutes in length.
