Scope:
Two file folders contain documentation about the artist and his works. Paperwork includes correspondence, entry forms, applications, program schedules, transcripts, and descriptions of the individual films that make up "Banned Reels," and transcripts of other works by the artist. See the record for "New Television, Episode 302 (1993)" for descriptions of videos containing this work.In "Banned Reels," three fictional accounts are presented in a mock-documentary style. In the first, "At Once," a TV station that boasts it will go anywhere is dispatched to the home of Anna Ferguson, who calls complaining of strange noises in her home. The TV crew disappears in the seemingly empty home after experiencing disturbances in their signal. Later, it is discovered that an Anna Mae Ferguson lived in the house in the 1930's. In "The Child," a youngster with powers of telekinesis is the cause of a violent act within his family. In "Siberia," a community of men involved in experiments in human robotics at a closely guarded compound is "exposed."
