Visual: Meg Vaillancourt stands in a classroom at the Jackson/Mann Elementary School. A diverse group of young children is learning to read. Vaillancourt explains the "freedom of choice" plan for Boston schools. Vaillancourt reports that the plan reserves a certain number of seats in each school for each racial group; that parents choose schools on a first-come, first-served basis. Vaillancourt does several takes of the report for the news story.
