The film South: Ernest Shackleton and the Endurance Expedition, which features Frank Hurley's original 35mm footage from the Endurance expedition, was recently restored by the British Film Institute. Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure features short segments from this original film.

South has had very successful theatrical runs in several cities, including Boston, Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco and Santa Fe. For home viewing, the film is also available on DVD and VHS in this site's "Merchandise" section.

NOVA program
A two-hour NOVA program about Shackleton's Endurance expedition will air on PBS stations in fall 2001.

Theatrical Documentary
A 90-minute documentary feature about Shackleton's expedition entitled The Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition premiered in select theaters in fall 2000, produced by White Mountain Films (a co-producer of Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure) and directed by George Butler (director of Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure). This documentary offers extended interviews with Shackleton specialists and descendants of the original crew.

Photography Exhibition
The American Museum of Natural History's touring exhibition, The Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition, features more then 150 compelling photographs by expedition photographer Frank Hurley.
